Last week as part of the Family Review Network I received two packets of Herman T’s BBQ Sauce Mix. Herman T’s BBQ was created back in the 1950′s by Herman T Brown and handed down to his grandson, Brian, who decided the BBQ sauce was too good not to share it with the world and began to mass produce the sauce. I was sent two packets of BBQ sauce mix to try and review – the Original Mild mix and the Spicy Hot mix.
Since I had never had this BBQ sauce before I decided to start off with the Original Mild mix and made BBQ Hamburgers with french fries. This was a pretty simple meal to make especially since I used premade paddies for the burgers. First I had to mix the BBQ sauce. Easy enough. Just added some ketchup and water and then let it boil on the stove top. Next I coated my hamburger patties in the sauce.
Next I brought out my handy George Forman Grill. It was just too hot to grill outside like I normally do. I cooked the patties for a couple minutes until cooked. At the same time I also had some french fries in the oven cooking. This meal was very easy and simple to make. It took me less than 30 minutes.
The BBQ hamburgers were very good and my kids really liked them. I personally think they were a little too mild, but that is probably why my kids liked it so much.
Herman T’s website has a BBQ Meatloaf that I want to try out. I think I will use the Spicy Hot sauce mix for it. It’s on the menu for next week.
